April 2023, Svalbard — Day 9
After reaching the south end of Spitsbergen, Sørneset, we would finally be able to point the tips of our skis north. This also meant we had the whole island ahead of us, and our goal — reaching the northern tip of Spitsbergen — was almost impossible to grasp from here.
I took the photograph at about midnight, only a few minutes before we reached our camp. At this point we had been skiing for 40 kilometers, everyone was exhausted from a long day out. Nature rewarded us with the most beautiful sunset we would experience during the 40 days in the arctic.
The "Arctic Adventure" Diaries
With every print (framed & print only) there comes a unique addon. To immerse you even more into our adventure, and for you to gain some deep insights into my thoughts during this trip I added a passage of my diary. The passage enclosed with the print is unique to every photograph (with two exceptions), and is very much related to it.

FAQ
I AM TORN BETWEEN BUYING A FRAMED OR A PRINT-ONLY ARTWORK. WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET?
The first time I held a finished framed artwork of mine in my hands I was impressed with the quality of the frame and the overall feel of the product. For me, the frame completes the artwork and I highly suggest buying my prints framed. However, if it breaks the bank or you have a very specific frame in mind you may opt for the print-only option — and it is an experience in itself to hold the raw print in your hands and be able to feel the structure of the paper. When framing the print yourself make sure to work with the utmost caution to prevent hair or dust coming in between the protective glass and the artwork.
HOW DO I FRAME MY NEW PRINTS?
All Prints are standard DIN sizes, ranging from DIN A4 (Tiny) to DIN A0 (Majestic). If you choose to buy a print-only you'll find frames for these sizes all over the internet or in your local frame shop.
If you happen to have an IKEA frame that you'd like to repurpose, you can of course (carefully) cut parts of the white border to fit the print in your frame, or use the frames passpartout.
WHICH SIZE SHOULD I GET?
This highly depends on the available space and where you'd like to hang the print.
With the "medium"-size being the most popular choice for collectors I suggest SMALL or MEDIUM, as those sizes fit most spaces. TINY works good if you want to add the picture to an existing wall of art. If you want something eye-catching and are looking for a rooms main artwork, take LARGE. MAJESTIC feels more like a statement piece, and I would suggest a big empty wall for this size. Also put some time in how to handle and frame this size, as I do not offer a frame for this size (more information below).
WHERE IS THE FRAME FOR THE "MAJESTIC"-SIZED PRINTS?
Currently I do not offer a framed version of the "Majestic" (Din A0) size. I highly recommend to mount the print before placing it in your own frame, to make sure the print stays perfectly flat and does not bend inside the frame. Mounting is available on request (Let me know BEFORE ordering!).
DO YOU OFFER OTHER FRAMES THAN THE "TRADITIONAL FRAME"?
Yes, I do! The Arctic Adventure collection is available as a limited collectors edition, meaning you can get these prints framed in premium floater frames in sizes greater than the average human. Check out the section further down this page!
WHY DON'T YOU OFFER A WHITE TRADITIONAL FRAME?
This is mainly my personal preference. I think my prints look best in black or oak frames. If you want to order the print framed in a white "Traditional Frame" reach out to me, I will make this possible!
The Paper: Hahnemühle Photorag
With making a purchase in my shop you don’t just get a photograph — you acquire a piece of art. Produced to highest professional standards, this print will last over a lifetime — handcrafted in Germany or the UK (depending on your location). Every picture is printed on off-white, 308g/m2 Hahnemühle Photorag paper. With a super matt finish, the paper allows for muted blacks, excellent detail and an even color reproduction. With its chalky smooth cotton base, texture is minimal which creates brilliant color gradients. I recommend handling this paper carefully to avoid the edges fraying.
